JAMMU, INDIA, April 16, 2004: The 98th birth anniversary of Swami Lakshman Joo, the 20th century saint of Kashmir Saivism, was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety at the Ishwar Ashram, Mohinder Nagar, here today. Large number of devotees of Swami Ji drawn from different corners of Jammu thronged the ashram to participate in the function. It may be recalled that Swami Ji was the last doyen of Kashmir Shaivism. The function started with the usual Guru Puja in the morning by the disciples of Swami Ji. After the puja (worship ceremony) the devotees were served with the prashad (blessed food). The day was also celebrated at Ishbar, Srinagar and Sarita Vihar, New Delhi.
