EDMONTON, CANADA, May 31, 2004: The Alankaara Utsavam, Annual Festival, of the Maha Ganapati Temple here was announced today. It will be June 16 and continue for ten days, with the final ceremonies on Friday, June 25. Festival sponsorship is available for devotees for the first nine days at a fee of $200 per sponsorship. The last day of the festival is sponsored exclusively by the Temple. During the first Sunday of the festival (June 20, 2004), devotees may carry the abishekam milk in containers, in procession around the temple. A $5 donation is expected to participate in this ceremony. For details, please contact the temple. Devotees may prepare meals and serve to the festival attendees at the end of each day of the festival. Artists from the Nathaswara Thavil Music of Canada will provide music each day of the festival.
