NAGPUR, INDIA, July 22, 2004: Nagpur girl Vandana Joshi has made it to the Guinness Book of World Records with flying colors with the prestigious book recognizing a rangoli made by her as the largest one of its kind in the globe. Guinness World Records, the publishers of the records book, have issued a certificate recognizing a 466 square metre rangoli made by her on February 7 this year as the “World’s Largest Rangoli Pattern.”
The earlier record of a rangoli of 163 square metre was held by Ranvir Kour of Nottingham in the UK. Vandana made the record-breaking rangoli, eighty feet in diameter, at the playground of a local school, using 2,000 kg of colors. The program had been organized by the Nagpur Pratibha Junior Chamber.
