BATTICALOA, SRI LANKA, October 24, 2004: The Maha Kumbabishekam (dedication ceremony) of the unique Saptha Rishi temple, the Maha Mehru temple and the Maha Vishnu temple of Batticaloa will be held on October 30. It has been built under the divine instructions and guidance of Saptha Rishis and Maharishis. In this connection, a Maha Yagna will be conducted for a period of three days commencing October 28, using 1,008 spiritual herbs and holy waters taken from nine sacred rivers in India. This special puja (worship) will be conducted to restore peace and harmony, especially in Sri Lanka and the whole world.



In the presence of His Holiness, Swamy Dr. R. K. Murugesu, founder guru of Sri Gayathri Peetam International Trust, the Maha Kumbabishekam will be conducted by His Holiness Swamy Jagath Guru Sri Siddeshwaran and Bharathi of Andhra of Andhra Pradesh, his chief disciples and the chief priest of Sri Gayathri Peetam International Trust, Brahma Sri R. Shanmuga Sundara Kurukkal. His Holiness Swamy Jagath Guru Sri Siddeshwarananda Bharathi, a spiritual leader who has a wide learning and knowledge of yantra, mantra and tantra, is one of the most outstanding saintly leaders amongst the religious teachers of India.



“This ceremony is a great historic event. This is the first time in the history of Sri Lanka that a great religious saint is visiting here to conduct a Maha Kumbabaishekam. It will be performed with the grace and blessings of Saptha Rishis, Shri Eshwarapatta Maharishi, Sri Kannaiah Yogeshwarar Maharishi and 18 Siddha Purushas,” said Swami R. K. Murugesu.
