February 7, 2005: Masala Cruises is a company which offers Indian style cruising on the large cruise lines such as Carnival. They create a cruise within a cruise for their customers with Indian entertainment and food. Their latest endeavor caught the eye of HPI — a floating Bhagvat Katha, discourse on the life of Lord Krishna, with accompanying religious activities. They describe it thus:

“Imagine sitting on the Ganges River and being uplifted be the recital of the Shrimad Bhagwat. July 13-20, 2005, the RadhaRani Cruise Alaska will recreate the serene and peaceful atmosphere of the ‘original’ Katha narrated on the banks of the Ganges, amongst an unimaginably beautiful backdrop of snowcapped mountains and breathtaking glaciers. In addition to the Bhagvat sessions with Kirtans and Utsavs narrated by Mridul Kishan Goswami, we will create a few programs such as: Bhajan Karaoke, Bhajan Antakshari and Bhakti Gyan Quiz Contest. Shri Mrudal Swamji’s son will speak to children in English. Swamiji himself will be available for question/answer sessions at designated times. Each night will be a Utsav: Krishna Janam, Makhan Chori Leela, Rukmani Mangal, Holi, Sudhama Charitr, Radha Krishn Vivah, Raas/Garba. Of course there will be great Indian Vegetarian food available breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as Vegetarian continental cuisine. All RadhaRani Cruise guests will be free to enjoy all the Masala Cruise entertainment, such as Yoga, Bhagraerobics, Indian Comedy, Indian Magician, Hindi Film Karaoke Competition, Chudi Bazaar, Indian Fashion Show, Geet Ghazal, Bollywood Entertainment, Bhangra partie, and Dandia on the Deck….as well as any Carnival Entertainment. Masala Cruises has been offering Indian-style cruises since 1999, but this is the first time they are featuring a 7-day Bhagvat Saptah, with full celestial celebrations, with world-renown Shri Mridul Kishan Goswami.”
