KALAVAI, INDIA, March 18, 2005: Thousands of devotees come to meet Jayendrar [Swamigal], who is in Kalavai, seeking His blessings. More than 50 fishermen of Devanampatti, Cuddalore came to Kalavai yesterday morning, met Sri Jayendra Saraswati [Swamigal] in Kalavai and got his blessings. Afterwards, they said to journalists: “We have been very badly affected by the tsunami. We have lost many of our family members to the tsunami. We have not yet returned to our fishing work. We are suffering without the means even to feed ourselves. We are going into the sea to resume fishing for the first time from tomorrow onwards. So, we came to seek blessings from Jayendra. And he has sent us with his blessings.” The fishermen were given foodstuffs sufficient for a month from the Mutt for free. Moreover, at the Free Medical Centre run by the Mutt, all were given free medical examination and also given necessary medications free of charge.
