KATHMANDU, NEPAL, April 17, 2005: His Majesty King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev inaugurated the silver jubilee year celebration of the World Hindu Federation in Maharajgunj, Bansbari, on the occasion of Ram Nawami and Hindu Unity Day. Her Majesty Queen Komal Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah was also present at the function. His Majesty handed over the peace vessel (Shanti Kalash) to the chairman of the World Hindu Federation, major general Bharat Keshar Singh, to carry with him on his world tour for peace. His Majesty also presented an appreciation letter to the Indian heir to Gorkhanth Pitha and member of the Lok Sabha and chairman of the World Hindu Federation, India Unit, Yogi Adityanath. Their Majesties offered worship at the Shreemad Adhaytama Ramayan Gyan Mahayagya being organised in the premises of the World Hindu Federation and received Prasads as well. Their Majesties also viewed a religious and cultural programmes during the ceremony. At the function, Her Majesty presented Parini Award to the writer of Putropadesh, Tritha Raj Acharya, who is also a scholar. Likewise, Her Majesty also felicitated four persons of the Omakar Pariwar for their contributions in field of Hindu religion and culture as well as two staff of district branches of the World Hindu Federation for their outstanding works in the federation. Those who were felicitated include Kishor Kumar Gautam of the Nepal Santa Society, Rajendra Shuradiya of the Nepal Jain Council, religious teacher of Boudhha Dharma Mahabihar, Swaymbhu, Kaalsang Lama, Rabindar Singh Sethi of Guru Nannak Satsangh Committee as well as the chairman of the World Hindu Federation in Dhanusa and Janakpurtham Mahanta Ram, Tapeswor Bishnab and the district chairman of the World Hindu Federation, Nuwakot, Madhav Prasad Khanal.
