USA, May 26, 2005: An HPI reader asked in response to the HPI item yesterday on the McDonald’s lawsuit settlement, “Do McDonald’s fries still contain beef?” The answer is, “Yes.” Here’s their list of ingredients for fries: “Potatoes, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, natural flavor (beef source), dextrose, sodium acid pyrophosphate (to preserve natural color). Cooked in partially hydrogenated vegetable oils (may contain partially hydrogenated soybean oil and/or partially hydrogenated corn oil and/or partially hydrogenated canola oil and/or cottonseed oil and/or sunflower oil and/or corn oil).” The ingredients of all their menu items are listed here.
