HELENSBURGH, AUSTRALIA, January 18, 2006: The Hindu Council of Australia in conjunction with Sri Venkateswara Temple invite devotees to meet Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami at 3:00 PM on January 26, 2006. For location information, click “source” above.
This is an opportunity to meet the Satguru in person and listen to his guidance and a spiritual discourse. Shortly before Gurudeva, Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami, attained Mahasamadhi, his “great departure,” on November 12, 2001, he designated Bodhinatha Veylanswami, a disciple for 37 years, as his successor. Bodhinatha ascended to the pitham, the spiritual seat, of Kauai Aadheenam, and from that day has guided the monks in their spiritual life and in the fulfillment of Gurudeva’s vision and mission on Earth as the Guru Mahasannidhanam of Kauai Aadheenam. Most of the year finds Bodhinatha on the island of Kauai, Hawaii, where he oversees the varied publications of Himalayan Academy and serves as publisher of the international magazine Hinduism Today. At the monastery, he trains the monks in their service duties and spiritual practices, and guides the lives of hundreds of families around the globe. Bodhinatha is actively immersed in a series of educational projects which focus on bringing spiritual instruction to Hindu youth, and on a series of pamphlets and books which present Gurudeva’s profound teachings in thoughtful, step-by-step style.
