VARANASI, INDIA, March 10, 2006: Founder of Art of Living and eminent spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shanker said here on Friday that good sanskar (moral values) could check terrorist activities across the globe. Ravi Shanker, who visited the Sankat Mochan Temple where a blast occurred last Tuesday, said that the parents should inculcate good moral and ethical values in their children to check such activities. The spiritual leader urged the common people not to hold a single community responsible for such terrorist activities as terrorists had no religion. He said that there were more good people in a community than mischievous ones. Ravi Shanker called upon the sants to unitedly fight the growing terrorism across the globe. He suggested that politicians should sink their differences and come forward for the cause of peace and harmony in the country. He appreciated the residents of the city for keeping their cool as no untoward incident sparked off after the bomb blast. “I appreciate the people of this city as they have given the message of mutual tolerance to the entire world,” he said. He asserted that the twin blasts were an abortive attempt of anti-social elements to disturb the peace in the city. The spiritual leader said that he had come here to spread the message of peace in the time of crisis. Eminent religious leader Swami Dayananad Saraswati, who accompanied Ravi Shanker, said that the people should overcome their weakness at such a sensitive time and stand together to counter the ill-designs of a few anti-social elements. Ravi Shanker also held talks with Dr. Vishwambhar Nath Mishra (son of Mahant Prof. Veer Bhadra Mishra) and took stock of the situation. He also visited Sir Sunderlal Hospital in Banaras Hindu University and Shiv Prasad Gupta Divisional Hospital where victims of the twin blasts have been admitted.
