WAGAH, AMRITSAR (border of India and Pakistan), March 20, 2006: A 149-member Hindu jatha (pilgrimage) from the Sind province of Pakistan today crossed into India from this border check-post to visit various religious places. Headed by Baba Nand Lal, the jatha, which includes women, will also pay obeisance at Shadani Darbar, Raipur, in Chhattisgarh during its 21-day stay in India, an official spokesman said. The Jatha, which was received by various Hindu organization, expressed views that the Pakistan government’s attitude has changed a lot and now they are paying attention to the repair of temples particularly in Chakwal district where famous Katasraj shrine, related to the Lord Siva is located. The jatha members while welcoming the decision of running a bus service to Nankana Sahib from Amritsar, also demanded a similar service to Katasraj from here.
