PALANI, TAMIL NADU, INDIA, April 3, 2006: Thousands of devotees offered obeisance at the Sri Dhandayuthapaniswamy temple, the third abode of Lord Muruga, during the consecration ceremony performed amidst chanting of Vedic and Tamil hymns. The Mahakumbhishekam was performed for the sanctum sanctorum, main golden tower and the towers of the sub-temple simultaneously. The temple, including the sanctum sanctorum and the Artha mandapam, had been renovated at a cost of US$1.1 million.
