TRINIDAD, April 5, 2006: Visiting Hindu philosopher and spiritual leader, Sant Shri Brahmavairaagy Ji, spoke here of the increasing spate of terrorism and hate in the world. He said that the recent attacks on several sacred Hindu places of worship in Varanasi are cause for major concerns in India, and of course the world. “But the Government of India has not taken these attacks lightly, and has taken all-pervasive measures aimed at stopping them. And there is every reason to conclude that India will surmount this challenge. India has the technical capability and knowledge to thwart such destructive forces,” he said. “India will survive and ride above.”
“Religion,” he underscored, “must not be a dogma for spiritual purposes exclusively, but must be employed to spur human growth, human development and human understanding. This will further human society and will bring all the races together. This must be one of our projects. Following the amalgam of all these initiatives, wisdom will flow and we all will have a greater picture of ourselves as human beings.”
Sant Brahmavairaagy said, “There is a need to propagate the spirit of brotherhood and love and understanding among all peoples and nations. It has to incarnate in the minds of men from all ethnic groups and nationalities. The world society is ripe for such an undertaking. There is an urgent need for a spiritual and moral paradigm shift in all societies. The time to do it is now.”
