LONDON, ENGLAND, May 22, 2006: The on-line magazine, Hindu Voice UK, has posted its May issue. Some excerpts:
Hindu in Holland: “After the United Kingdom, the second largest Hindu community of Europe live in the Netherlands. There are between 150,000 – 200,000 Hindus currently living in the Netherlands, the vast majority of who migrated from Surinam – a former Dutch colony in South America. There are about 50,000 Hindus living in the Hague, the Dutch capital, while the other concentrations of Hindus are in the cities of Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Most Dutch Hindus trace their ancestry back to India from about 5 to 6 generations ago. Their ancestors were mainly from the Bihar and Uttar Pradesh areas of India.”
Other stories include “An Alternative Look at the Caste System,” “If Hanuman Dies” and “Drug Trials, The Dark Side” about secret drug experiments carried out by Western countries in India–an unanticipated application of “outsourcing.”
