SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, September 15, 2006: The Kalaa Mandir was founded in 1998 to promote Hinduism in Australia came to be known as “Hindu Heritage Society” to reflect its aims and objectives more accurately. HHS organizes various cultural and educational programs for both children and adults and has organised religious and cultural activities for the local community which includes Kumbh Milan in 1999, Sarva Dharma Prarthna Samelan with participation of Hindus, Jainis, Buddhists, and Shikha a unique feature in Australia. HHS has also rendered help to the earthquake victims in Gujarat HHS actively provides Religious services through various pundits, publishes quarterly magazine containing academic information covering Religious, Cultural, Educational and moral teachings for the younger generation.
The society conducted Sanskriti Diwas – Vishnu Sahasra Naam Archana at Northmead Public School on Sunday, 16th July, 2006. Over one hundred families participated with performing Pooja, Abhishekam for Lord Vishnu and His Consort, Lakshmi. The enthusiastic response of participants, especially children and youth and the ease with which they were able to chant sahasranamam is a reflection of the commitment of the society to enthuse spirituality in the next generation. The Society will conduct Devi Jagran / Nav Ratri Pooja Saturday 30th September 2006, from 6.00pm till 12.00 midnight at the Northmead Public School, Moxhams Road, Northmead, Sydney.
