KOLKATA, INDIA, October 1, 2006: NDTV caught up with several foreigners in the city who had never seen anything like India’s Navaratri celebration before. They thought Christmas in the US and London was the most beautiful thing there could be, but that was before they came to Kolkata during the festival season. Meet Julie, David, Tyson and Marjorie. When they came to the city for six weeks as students, they had no idea that they would be here for Kolkata’s biggest extravaganza. They came to learn how to teach spoken English, but clearly, they have learned much more. They came here as students but they are certainly going back to the US and London as brand ambassadors of Kolkata’s Durga pujas.
