GOA, INDIA, October 10, 2006: An International Indology Conference on the contribution of ancient Indian thought to the development of modern Indian society is being organized at the Kala Academy, Goa, India, February 8-10, 2007, under the auspices of Motilal Banarsidass. The theme of this conference is “Ancient Wisdom Brought to Modern Times-Pathway to Higher Consciousness.” The basic objective of the conference is to identify some areas of ancient Indian wisdom and their contemporary relevance. The conference is an attempt to explore the extent ancient Indian wisdom can contribute to the development of a modern Indian society without necessarily compromising on the advantages of modern living. Guest of honor is Dr. L. M. Singhvi, former Ambassador to the U.K., and the keynote address will be delivered by Dr. David Frawley of the American Institute of Vedic Sciences.
