JAMMU, INDIA, November 21, 2006: Each year the number of devotees worshipping at the cave temple shrine of Vaishnodevi keeps rising and this year is no exception as over 6.2 millon was the last count of pilgrims on November 21. Sri Mata Vaishnodevi Shrine Board Additional Chief Executive Puneet Kumar said, “We are happy to create yet another record pilgrim turnover and expect nearly seven million pilgrims to visit the cave this year. We have also re-opened the oldest tunnel of the cave for pilgrims to get a feel of the ancient pilgrimage route.”
