LUDHIANA, INDIA, June 15, 2007: The Sri Geeta Mandir has been offering free summer camps so that Indian children can absorb Hindu culture and learn good solid moral values while having fun with their peers. The news release explains, “At Sri Geeta Mandir the majority of participants are children who are taught through stories of Panchatantra and real life examples of great personalities like Swami Vivekananda and Mahatma Gandhi.”

Tarsem Lal, one of the organizers at the Sri Geeta Mandir, said, “Swami Krishna Nand from Bangalore has come here to teach yoga to the kids. Along with good moral values, we also teach children to avoid junk food and cold drinks. For such awareness, we regularly hold calligraphy competitions in which they write slogans related to such subjects. Many other topics as why shall we do pranayama and even what is the use of brushing teeth after every meal are also included in it.” Niharika, IX standard student commented, “I learnt calligraphy here and decorated my whole room with beautiful quotes from the Upanishads and Mahabharata.”
