He said the online edition which is available via the Sanatan Fiji website is mainly for the international readers. The magazine can be either viewed or downloaded in a PDF file format from the URL www.sanatanfiji.com.
Mr. Prasad said locals can also enjoy the issue online since Fiji now enjoys the luxury of high speed internet. The founder of the Sanatan Samachaar, Mr. Surendra Kumar JP who is also the immediate past national president of SanatanFiji thanked everyone who played a role in getting the 2007 Diwali edition ready. “This issue will play an important role in promoting the prestigious festival of lights and the teachings of our religion which is attached to Diwali or Deepawali,” Mr. Kumar said. Diwali which will be celebrated on the 9th of November this year is celebrated by people of all races and helps in bringing the different communities of the multi cultural Fiji Islands together. The Government of Fiji declared a public holiday for this prestigious festival of lights in 1975. The day is filled with religious activities including the prayer of the Goddess of wealth Mata Lakshmi and the sharing of sweets and food between neighbors, families and friends.
