GUADELOUPE ISLANDS, December 16: On Saturday, December 22, five murtis will be installed in a Temple recently built in Guadeloupe, a French territory in Central America. It is a rare event in the local community, that has been experiencing a Hindu Renaissance. The ceremony will begin at 8am, and a 2 km procession will leave the Shingam family house towards Boisvin (Route de Caillebot). Traditional music and instruments will accompany the parade, and flowers thrown if front of the deities in the traditional way. The installation of the murti will be done by a special puja.
