CUDDALORE, INDIA, March 13, 2008: A meeting held in Chidambaram on Tuesday decided to allow oduvars to recite Tamil devotional hymns at Lord Nataraja temple on a regular basis. As per the resolution, the oduvars recited Tamil hymns at the temple from 7.30 am to 8 am on Wednesdays.

The resolution was adopted in the meeting between the dikshitars, Tamil activists and police. As per the agreement, 10 oduvars will be allowed to recite Tamil devotional hymns at the Chitsaba and five among them will be allowed to climb the podium in the Chitsaba.

For this, prior permission from the dikshitars will be required. Police will provide security to the oduvars in the Temple. Inspector Ramalingam of the Chidambaram Town police station, Srinivasan, SI, Sivaprakasam, town secretary, Tamil Desa Podhuvudaimai Katchi, Sivarama Dikshitar and Pattu Dikshitar took part in the peace meeting.
