KAUAI, HAWAII, USA, July 15, 2008: Marking its full entrance onto the stage of online video, Kauai’s Hindu Monastery launched its new monthly podcast. It is a 10-minute video highlighting the activities of Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami, publisher of Hinduism Today, and the many events happening at the monastery including the progress of Iraivan Tmeple, America’s first all-stone Hindu
temple.

This month’s news include Bodhinatha’s travels to Arizona, Illinois, California and Ontario; new floor and ceiling stones at Iraivan Temple; two swami’s high-tech voyage to California and New York; the transition of Nepal from the last Hindu nation to a secular country; and a message from Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami, founder of Kauai Aadheenam.

Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami explains why the Monastery decided to create a video version of its newsletter. “News can be more effectively presented in video than in print. Most people prefer TVs to newspaper and the Monastery’s news is no exception. A video coverage provides a much better sense of the various activities happening here.” He also explained that young people are far more likely to watch a video than reading a newsletter. According to Bodhinatha, technology is bringing the computer closer to the television and soon it will be common for families to watch downloaded videos on the TV together. “The Monastery can provide a few minutes of healthy religious content,” Bodhinatha explains.
