SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA, December 10, 2008: A group of long-time Bay Area residents have announced plans to establish a Sri Durga Lakshmi Saraswati Temple.

Associated facilities will include a multi-purpose building with wedding and dining hall, kitchen, offices, library and classrooms. The temple will be built following the Agama and Shilpa Shastras. This will be a “Green Temple” incorporating environmentally friendly features such as solar roofs and rainwater harvesting. When completed, the group plans to transfer all assets to the Hindu Community and Cultural Center, which operates the Shiva-Vishnu Temple in Livermore, California. Land acquisition for the temple is in progress.
