NEW DELHI, INDIA, December 22, 2008: Mobile entertainment company Nazara Technologies has launched a game that can be played on the new generation iPhone. Based on the Mahabharata, the 2D game portrays original incidents from the epic and gives an opportunity to gamers to know more about Hindu heritage. “Epic content is very acceptable in the market. With it, we intend to reach out to larger audience and grab a larger chunk of the growing mobile gaming industry,” says Nazara Technologies CEO Nitish Mittersain.

The company plans to launch a series of games based on the Mahabharata, Ramayana, Panchatantra and Akbar Birbal to name a few. Mobile content and gaming companies are now tapping the target audience who show interest in traditional stories and epics. The Indian mobile gaming market is expected to reach US$336 million by 2009.
