NEW DELHI, INDIA, January 26, 2009: The Padma Bhushan award is India’s third-highest civilian decoration, after the Bharat Ratna and the Padma Vibhushan. It is awarded to recognize distinguished service of a high order to the nation, in any field. Among the 30 Padma Bhushan awardees this year was Vaidyanathan Ganapathi Sithapati, renowned vastu scholar and architect of Iraivan Temple, America’s first all-stone temple.
