MISSISSAUGA, ON, CANADA, February 18, 2009: [Press Release] The newly opened Hindu Heritage Centre Mississauga created history in North America by becoming the first ever temple to do the establishment of the twelve Jyotir Lingams. The event was spread over 3 days starting on February 13 and finishing on February 15, 2008. Hindu Devotees came to see the Sthapana (establishment) ceremony and take the blessings of Shiva. The environment in Temple was electrified by hundreds of devotees chanting Lord Shiva’s hymns.
The 24,000 square feet temple, is going strong under the guidance of Acharya Surendra Sharma and support of numerous volunteers. It provides classes on Hindi and Gujarati, Kathak and Bharatnatyam dances and Tabla. For more information click on the link above.
