pSource: /pbr /The Indus Valley civilization covered an area of Pakistan and northwest India about a quarter the size of Europe. At its peak, between 2500 and 1900 bce, its major cities were among the world’s biggest, along with those of Mesopotamia and Egypt.br /br /Although the language of the Indus civilization may have died out altogether, some scholars speculate that it relates to the Dravidian languages spoken in southern India and in Baluchistan (where the Dravidian language is known as Brahui). If this hypothesis is correct, it might be possible to match words from the old form of Tamil with the Indus signs.
