KURUKSHETRA, HARYANA, INDIA, July 18, 2009: Hindu astrology holds that eclipses bring unexpected and unpleasant events, and traveling is usually avoided. As the July 22 solar eclipse approaches, the Kurukshetra district administration in Haryana has announced that nearly one million pilgrims who come to the Brahmsarovar (pond of Lord Brahma) for a holy dip would be provided insurance to cover them against any mishap.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Narinder Singh said Saturday that the solar eclipse is expected to take place early Wednesday morning and thousands of devotees are expected to arrive here by Tuesday.
