TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO, July 15, 2009: Inspired by a spiritual leader from India, 100 mandir groups will take part in a “Raksha Mantra Yatra” (continuous chanting along a pilgrimage) to bless and purify the nation. Scheduled for July 26, the yatra begins at the 85-foot-tall Karya Siddhi Hanuman murti at the Dattatreya Yoga Centre, Waterloo Road, Carapichaima, and will travel throughout Central districts, from one mandir to another.
The yatra has been designed by spiritual head of the Yoga Centre, Swami Ganapathi Sachchidananda, of Mysore, India. He told his followers that the year 2009 will bring a lot of pain and suffering throughout the world.
To counteract the negativity, he has asked his devotees to be more selfless and pray for the upliftment of mankind as a whole. “It is a simple humanitarian effort to unite the people of Trinidad in prayer to bring about positive energy and banish evil doings,” he said.
He said the yatra aims at bringing together the youths of the nation and guiding them along the right path so they can become the guiding torches for future generations.
