AMARNATH, JAMMU & KASHMIR, August 6, 2009: The Union Home Minister Shri P. Chidambaram has congratulated all involved for ensuring the successful and peaceful completion of the Amarnath Yatra, which came to an end yesterday.
The Yatra commenced on 15th June 2009. The delayed start was because of heavy snowfall in that area. Nevertheless, during the 52-day period, nearly 400,000 pilgrims performed the Yatra and visited the shrine.
