MUMBAI, INDIA, August 3, 2009: Seven stations in India’s Big FM network will be creating huge papier-mache Ganeshas for this year’s Ganesha Chaturthi. Their goal is for every listener household to get involved by donating old newspaper to the cause.
During the first ten days of August, a newspaper drive will be held at housing societies and other key locations. Well-known designers will oversee the creation of the Maha Ganeshas. Each day, local celebrities and listeners will join together to do an arati to the Ganesha that will be broadcast live.
