NEPAL, August 11, 2009: Reports coming from Taulihawa have it that the signature campaign initiated by the Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal have so far failed to garner support in favor of re-declaration of the country as a Hindu State and referendum on Monarchy and Federalism.

The local coordinator of the campaign, Mr. Bed Prasad Burma, told the Rajdhani Daily, August 6, 2009, that the failure of the movement is basically linked to the fact that the people fear the Maoists.

“Though the population at large are in favor of re-declaration of the country as a Hindu State, however, the pressure exerted by the Maoists and other parties, the people at large have refrained from taking part in the signature campaign”, reveals Burma.
