USA, August 18, 2009 (from the HPI staff): If you are a parent who ever wondered what your sons and daughters encounter as Hindus living in America, this is a video you have to see.
The video was made by an otherwise common American teenager, called Molly, while her friend Saraswati visited her. Sitting at the kitchen table, Saraswati faces aggressive — and ignorant — questions about her values, her culture and her religion. Molly insistently proselytizes and tries to ridicule her new friend.
For those parents who sometimes think that hoping for the best is enough to preserve your culture in the next generation, this is a reminder: there is much work to do.

Rudyard Kipling:
Now it is not good for the Christian’s health
To hustle the Aryan brown,
For the Christian riles and the Aryan smiles,
And it weareth the Christian down.
And the end of the fight
Is a tombstone white
With the name of the late deceased
And the epitaph drear: “A fool lies here
who tried to hustle the East.”
