DHAKA, BANGLADESH, February 22, 2016 (Daily Times): Suspected militants stabbed and killed a Hindu priest at a temple in Bangladesh on Sunday, and shot and injured a devotee who went to his aid, police said. Bangladesh has suffered a wave of militant violence in recent months, including a series of bomb attacks on mosques and Hindu temples.

Some of the attacks have been claimed by the Islamic State (IS) group, which has also said it is behind the killings of a Japanese citizen, an Italian aid worker and a policeman. In Sunday’s attack, five or six motorcycle-borne attackers killed the priest, Jogeshwar Roy, 55, as he was organizing prayers at the Deviganj temple near Panchagar, 307 miles north of Dhaka, police said.
