INDIA, May 21, 2025 (India Times): The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is one of the most sacred pilgrimages for Hindus, Buddhists and Jains. Considered the abode of Lord Shiva, Mount Kailash and the holy Mansarovar Lake attract thousands of devotees every year. After being paused due to the COVID-19 pandemic and border tensions, the yatra is set to resume in June 2025. The Mansarovar Lake, believed to be created by Lord Brahma, is said to purify the soul. Bathing in this lake is believed to bring moksha (salvation). The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025 promises to be a spiritually fulfilling journey for those seeking divine blessings and inner peace. With clear start dates, a well-planned schedule, and multiple routes to choose from, devotees now have the chance to reconnect with their faith after a long gap.

The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025 will officially begin on 30 June 2025 and continue until 25 August 2025 (expected). The journey will take place through two different routes in Uttarakhand (Lipulekh Pass) and Sikkim (Nathula Pass). Only Indian citizens with a valid Indian passport are eligible for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. The pilgrimage is open to those travelling solely for religious purposes. Selection is done through a computerized draw, and successful applicants are notified via SMS and email. Before beginning the yatra, pilgrims must spend three days in Delhi for medical exams, acclimatization briefings and document verification. These steps are crucial to ensure the safety of all travelers due to the high-altitude and physically demanding conditions of the journey.
