INDIA, July 7, 2025 (Bhaskar English): The sacred Amarnath Yatra is witnessing an enthusiastic turnout as over 50,000 devotees have had darshan of the naturally formed ice Shivling inside the holy cave within just four days of the pilgrimage. The 38-day yatra, which began on July 3, is set to conclude on August 9, coinciding with Raksha Bandhan. So far, more than 350,000 devotees have registered for the annual pilgrimage. Registration facilities have been set up at Saraswati Dham, Vaishnavi Dham, Panchayat Bhawan and Mahajan Sabha in Jammu, with about 2,000 pilgrims registering daily. To ensure the safety of pilgrims, a heavy security blanket has been deployed with 581 security companies. Soldiers are stationed every 164 feet along the route. Medical camps are established at 1.24 mile intervals between Baltal and the cave, with warehouses and rest stops at key points. With more pilgrims expected in the coming days, authorities continue to monitor the weather and route conditions closely to ensure a safe and smooth yatra experience.
