INDIA, February, 2026 (tithayatra.org): Uttarakhand authorities have announced new health measures ahead of Char Dham Yatra 2026, including the establishment of 50-bed hospitals at Badrinath and Kedarnath. Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said the facilities, equipped with oxygen systems, emergency wards and critical care units, are expected to be operational before the pilgrimage begins in April, aiming to better serve the large number of devotees visiting the high-altitude shrines.
Officials also plan to double ambulance coverage along the Char Dham route, deploying Advanced Life Support vehicles and strengthening the 108 emergency network to improve response times. The upgrades are part of a broader effort to enhance medical readiness in remote temple regions and make the annual yatra safer and more pilgrim-friendly.
