SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA, JULY 21, 2006: Rudraksya, a superb Odissi dance troupe with nine dancers and five musicians, is presently on tour through 26 cities in North America. As a part of their West Coast appearances, they performed for the Asian Tsunami and Earthquake Benefit event for over two and a half hours in Eugene, Oregon. The audience was extremely enthusiastic and receptive to their six spiritual dances and classical music featuring sitar, flute, harmonium, Odissi drums and a talented vocalist singing devotional songs in Oriya language. Led by reputed choreographer and dance teacher Guru Bichitrananda Swain, Rudraksya dances the graceful and lyrical Odissi style. The troupe is now in the San Francisco Bay Area and will present over a dozen more performances as a part of their 26-city tour.
