With profound sorrow and grief, Hindu University of America announces the unexpected passing away of Professor Kuldip Chandra Gupta (known to his associates as KC ji, or KCG), past president of HUA, on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 in Mumbai, India. He is survived by his wife Usha Gupta, a son, Sandeep, two daughters, Parul and Anjula, and two grandchildren. A prayer and Shraddhanjali service was scheduled for Friday, February 9, 2007 at 7:00 p.m., at the Hindu University Of America, 113 N Econlockhatchee Trail, Orlando, FL 32825.
Professor K. C. Gupta served as President of Hindu University of America from 2003 to 2006. He was associated with the Hindu University of America since its inception in 1986, as a member of its Board of Directors and Executive Committee since 1992. He served as Director of Academic Affairs, Editor of the HUA Newsletter, and Webmaster for the HUA website. He taught a course on the Bhagavad Gita for HUA students and conducted research on concept-maps for Gita and other scriptures. Dr. Gupta was Professor Emeritus of Electrical Engineering at the University of Colorado and a Courtesy Professor at the University of Central Florida.
