LONDON, ENGLAND, April 13, 2007: HPI received the following request from Rachael Smith, who created the well-made “Karma Lives” documentary about the UK Hindu community.

“Are you a Hindu family expecting your first baby between May and October? Do you know anybody that is? Would you be willing to share your family’s journey through pregnancy? My name is Rachel Smith and I am producing a television documentary for BBC2 celebrating the unique Hindu approach to having a baby. This will be broadcast to celebrate Deepavali. I am keen to explore the rituals performed during pregnancy, child birth and early in a child’s life and would like to meet people in the UK who would be willing to share this journey with us. This will be a positive and informative program and a wonderful opportunity to celebrate a new life coming into the world and educate people about the value and importance of the rituals of transition in Hinduism. Please call Rachel Smith on 0161 244 3687 or email rachel.smith@bbc.co.uk”
