INDIA, July 6, 2025 (The Hindu): Security arrangements have been heightened at Tiruchendur ahead of the consecration of Subramanya Swamy temple, scheduled to take place on July 7 (Monday), between 6:15 a.m. and 6:50 a.m. As the event had been scheduled during the early hours of dawn, devotees started gathering at the temple by Sunday (July 6) noon. Over 1 million pilgrims are expected to witness the consecration ceremony, which is being conducted after a gap of 16 years. Since the commencement of yagasala puja on July 1, which marks the beginning of the rituals for consecration ceremony, the temple has seen a steady influx of visitors from neighboring districts. To ensure the safety of the pilgrims and to manage the crowd, around 6,000 police personnel have been deployed on duty for the consecration ceremony.
