BERLIN, GERMANY, June 8, 2026 (Daily Hunt, originally in German): Following several days of festivities, the Sri Ganesha Temple in Berlin’s Neukolln opened on Sunday. Located on the edge of the Hasenheide park, the five-day festival took place from June 3 to 7. On the seventh, water from the Ganges was poured by crane onto the top of the 56-foot vimana. Founded in 2005, it is today, one of the largest Hindu temples in Europe. It is run by ten volunteer board members and employs three priests. Aarti takes place in the morning and evening. The temple is open to every Hindu tradition — Vaishnava, Shaiva, Shakta, Smarta. In Britz, the smaller Sri-Mayurapathy-Murugan-Temple had opened the year before as Berlin’s first Hindu temple.
