LONDON, UK, November 17, 2004: Over the last twelve years, there has been a transformation on the campuses of UK universities and the general student community as a whole. What began as a stall with a few students at the Hindu Marathon just twelve years ago has now emerged as the largest student body for Hindu students in Europe, with local chapters at over 51 universities and Institutions of higher education. Put simply, NHSF’s aim is to provide a platform for Hindu students and to develop a better understanding of the Hindu Dharma. The nature of National Hindu Students Forum (UK) is such that we see a great turn around in each and every Hindu Society every year. As students progress through their university lives, their focus and priorities change and rightly so studies become higher priority than extra curricular activities. It is heartening to note therefore that the level of activity does not falter year on year. New students come through and take up the reins – developing student activity from where their predecessors had reached. Although no organization goes without some rough patches, those that are successful are the ones that are able to learn from their mistakes and move forward in a positive direction. This it seems, is something the younger generations are learning to do. NHSF annually arrange several conferences and festival activities for Hindus as well as for non-Hindus.
