BHOPAL, INDIA, April 27, 2005: Yoga and meditation exercises are being required in all the government schools in Madhya Pradesh from the next academic session in view of an all-out development of the students. The Commissioner, Public Instructions, has issued instructions to all the district education officers to make arrangements in all the primary, middle, high and higher secondary schools for this. According to the instructions, the “Yoga–Dhyan” (yoga and meditation) exercises are required for 10 to 15 minutes at the time of prayers for the students in their schools. Arrangements have been made to make trained yoga teachers available in all the schools for imparting yoga training to the students. Annual yoga calendars for the year 2004-2005 had been issued to every school for training the teachers in yoga exercises at different levels. The district education officers have been instructed to organize four training camps of one week each for imparting yoga training to the teachers in May this year.
