CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, July 5, 2005: Thousands of lives were touched this spring by Sri Sri Shuddhanandaa’s vibrant distillations of ancient Vedic wisdom as he toured the U.K. and the four eastern states of the U.S.A. from May 1 – July 5, making presentations on the Simple Art of Managing Stress (SAMS). Shuddhanandaa, also simply called Baba, is the Founder and Director of Lokenath Divine Life Mission of Kolkata. Speaking to a wide variety of groups, Shuddhanandaa, translated the science of yoga into universal terms and simple, practical tools for releasing stress and achieving peace and happiness. He emphasized the inevitability of stress in daily life and the need to undertake a daily program to release it. “Releasing stress is like emptying the garbage in your home,” he reminded his audiences, “it has to be done every day. If you let it pile up, it starts stinking.” Baba taught simple stretches, the detoxifying and calming powers of the breath and of awareness through various forms of pranayama. He also taught meditation and the need to cultivate a positive, befriending mind. “We have been given so much; we have so many blessings. To be happy and at peace is to be conscious of the infinite blessings we have been given.”
