CARAPICHAIMA, TRINIDAD, July 22, 2005: In memory of all the gurus of all traditions, Enlightenment Day will be celebrated on Sunday, July 31, at the Dattatreya Yogan Centre, Orange Field Road, Carapichaima starting at 7 p.m. Enlightenment Day will honour the wealth of wisdom of all the great spiritualities of the world. Visiting Indian Swami Shri Brahmavairaagyi, of Kashi, India, founder and spiritual master, will be conducting the seminar under the auspices of the International Academy of Kundalini Dhyaan Yoga(IAKDY). Swami has been coming to Trinidad for 20 years and is well-liked and respected.
In an interview, Swami Brahmavairaagyi said that the seminar aims to remember the divine and realized souls of the world who have left, “the seed of wisdom and spirituality on this earth and spread peace and harmony to all human beings.” He continued: “This seminar will present the ancient technique of yoga and meditation that leads to enlightenment in our present life, and to fulfill the present needs of modern man.” “We will focus on how to establish world peace and divine love on this planet, as well as to promote awareness in society, to kindle our humanity and to awaken our divinity to a higher consciousness,” Swamiji said. Swamiji enumerated that the human body wants pleasure, the mind wants enjoyment, the intellect wants happiness and the consciousness wants peace and bliss. “Through this initiative, suffering, anger, confusion, doubts, depression, irritation, emotional and mental stress would wither away into the oblivion, and man will be able to handle all realities of daily living for a brighter future,” he said. “You will be able to live your life in a dancing mood with a smiling face of a divine tone and tune of songs like a chirping bird under the morning sun, and human life should be a celebration,” Swamiji noted.
Swamiji travels to over 65 countries across the globe spreading the message of Divine Consciousness. He has dedicated his life to the development of humanity, his message focuses on the spiritual elevation as well as the socio-cultural development of mankind. “In our quest towards divinity and in the kindling of the Knowledge of the Self, we must also look after the welfare of our society and nation,” Swamiji said.
