ARIZONA, USA, September 12, 2005: The birthday of Lord Ganesha was recently celebrated in many temples across the USA. For example, more than 500 people attended celebrations at the Maha Ganapathi Temple of Arizona on September 10. The ceremonies were performed by the temple priest, Viswanatha Gurukkal, assisted by Ramesha Natarajan. Fire worship was followed by a 108 pot bathing of the Ganesha icon with milk. Then the devotees took the utsavava murthi on procession with the words “Ganapathi pappa moria” resounding everywhere. Blessed food was then distributed to all the devotees.
