TEXAS, USA, September 23, 2005: Vijay Pallod of Houston sent a brief message on the impact of Hurricane Rita now bearing down on Houston.

BAPS Care International writes, “We already have centers in Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and Bryan College Station and El campo providing shelters to needy. We have also planned to provide food depending on what route Hurricane Rita takes. We will evaluate the situation after the hurricane and may provide short term shelter to devotees and Hindu friends and evaluate further assistance after the hurricane leaves. Just for your information we already have 40-50 people staying in temple.”

Vijay Pallod (713-562-1920 & 281-568-4995) arranged a conference call with other Hindu leaders to make arrangements for shelters for the needy. The organizations Keshav Smruti (281-851-6866), Radha Krishna Temple (713-530-8790) and Arya Samaj (832-814-5543) are offering shelter. Mr. Arun Sharma (713-974-6248) has arranged shelter for over 25 families in San Antonio and Dallas. Involved with all arrangements is Ramesh Cherivirala, 713-875-4336.
