PUERTO RICO, USA, May 25, 2006: The Supervisory Chaplain of the Metropolitan Detention Center, in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, has sent us a letter asking for contact with ministers of the Hindu faith there. The letter reads: “We are Chaplains from a Federal Bureau of Prisons in Puerto Rico, and we are trying to enhance new community relations. As part of our commitment for excellence in providing pastoral care for all inmates in so many different religions we will like to know if you may be able to help us in this endeavor. There are many inmates at our institution that come in times of spiritual guidance and that are interested in deepening their religious beliefs. Currently we do not have any representative or volunteer from Hinduism. Please advise us if you have any contact or branch in Puerto Rico you may recommend to assist our inmates that express interest of receiving visits from your organization.”

Those who can help should write or call Joyce Caulfield, Federal Bureau of Prisons of the US Department of Justice, Metropolitan Detention Center, Guaynabo, PO Box 2146, San Juan, Puerto Rico 00922-2146. Phone: 787 749 4480
